As the largest archipelago in the world,  Indonesia's capital city Jakarta which is directly adjacent to Java Sea,   has  the   potential  of  marine  resources.  The growth  of  Jakarta  is  accompanied  by  population explosion  that  makes  the  food  needs  increasing, especially marine resources.

Muara  Angke  is  one  of  several  harbors  in Jakarta, known   as   fishermen  village.  Due  to  the physical condition   of   the  environment,  which is  between the  city  and  the  sea,  makes  the fishermen settled in Muara Angke. Existence of fishermen increasingly marginalized as a result of rapid urban growth.

Rapid   urban   growth   that   gives   impact   to   the increasement of marine resources demand, making the existence of them should be defended as a main distributor  of  marine  resources  in Jakarta. The role of fishermen creating a linear relationship between the sea, fishermen and the city. Fishermen becomes a  mediator between the sea   and  the  city.  This relationship  illustrates  the  role  of  fishermen  as  a (IN) BETWEEN of the city and the sea itself.

(IN) BETWEEN HOUSE is intended for the fishermen in   Muara   Angke   that   will   be   maintaining  the locality  of  the  fishermen  themselves  and  answering  the needs of their shelters.
