As the largest archipelago in the world, Indonesia's capital city Jakarta which is directly adjacent to Java Sea, has the potential of marine resources. The growth of Jakarta is accompanied by population explosion that makes the food needs increasing, especially marine resources.
Muara Angke is one of several harbors in Jakarta, known as fishermen village. Due to the physical condition of the environment, which is between the city and the sea, makes the fishermen settled in Muara Angke. Existence of fishermen increasingly marginalized as a result of rapid urban growth.
Rapid urban growth that gives impact to the increasement of marine resources demand, making the existence of them should be defended as a main distributor of marine resources in Jakarta. The role of fishermen creating a linear relationship between the sea, fishermen and the city. Fishermen becomes a mediator between the sea and the city. This relationship illustrates the role of fishermen as a (IN) BETWEEN of the city and the sea itself.
(IN) BETWEEN HOUSE is intended for the fishermen in Muara Angke that will be maintaining the locality of the fishermen themselves and answering the needs of their shelters.
